Huelga de hambre de un prisionero saharaui para protestar por condiciones inhumanas

Mohamed Bourial, preso político saharaui del grupo de Gdeim Izik, ha iniciado una huelga de hambre de 48 horas para protestar por las condiciones deplorables e inhumanas de su detención, incluyendo la negación de medicamentos esenciales y severas restricciones a las visitas familiares.

La huelga de hambre comenzó el lunes 15 de septiembre de 2025, en la prisión de Ait Melloul, cerca de Agadir, donde Bourial está recluido a aproximadamente 700 kilómetros de su familia en el Aaiún ocupado.

Según su hermana, Oum Essad, que dialogó con Equipe Media, el detonante inmediato de la protesta es un problema crítico relacionado con la salud de Bourial. La administración de la prisión le ha informado que solo puede recibir la medicación necesaria desde fuera de la instalación, una tarea casi imposible para su familia dada la inmensa distancia y su acceso restringido.

«Esta es una política deliberada para destrozar su espíritu y su salud», afirmó Oum Essad. «Saben que vivimos a 700 km de distancia y que las visitas son muy limitadas. ¿Cómo se supone que vamos a conseguirle su medicina con regularidad?».

La difícil situación de la familia se agrava por las estrictas restricciones a las visitas. Oum Essad reveló que el permiso para ver a Bourial se concede solo a su madre, a su esposa y a una de sus hermanas. A todos los demás miembros de la familia se les niegan sistemáticamente los derechos de visita, aislándolo de su red de apoyo.

Además, detalló las pésimas condiciones diarias que su hermano padece. «Mohamed sufre por la mala calidad de la comida que le dan y lleva siete años en total confinamiento», dijo. Este prolongado aislamiento y la mala nutrición han afectado gravemente su bienestar físico y mental.

Mohamed Bourial es uno de los activistas saharauis condenados en relación con las protestas de Gdeim Izik, un campamento desmantelado por las fuerzas marroquíes en 2010. Su caso es citado frecuentemente por organizaciones de derechos humanos que acusan a Marruecos de detener y maltratar arbitrariamente a presos políticos saharauis.

En su comunicación con Equipe Media, Oum Essad hizo un llamamiento desesperado a la comunidad internacional. Pidió a «toda la conciencia internacional que actúe y arroje luz sobre la difícil situación de su hermano y de todos los prisioneros políticos saharauis recluidos en prisiones marroquíes».

دخل المعتقل السياسي الصحراوي محمد بوريال، من مجموعة كديم إيزيك، في إضراب عن الطعام لمدة 48 ساعة احتجاجا على ظروف اعتقاله القاسية وغير الإنسانية، والتي تشمل حرمانه من الأدوية الأساسية وفرض قيود صارمة على زيارة أسرته.

بدأ الإضراب عن الطعام يوم الاثنين 15 سبتمبر 2025 في سجن أيت ملول ضاحية أغادير، حيث يتم احتجاز بوريال على بعد حوالي 700 كيلومتر من عائلته في مدينة العيون المحتلة.

وفي اتصال مع «إيكيب ميديا»، قالت ام السعد شقيقة محمد بوريال  إن الدافع المباشر لهذا الاحتجاج هو وضع شقيقها الصحي المتدهور حيث أبلغته إدارة السجن أنه لا يمكنه الحصول على الدواء الضروري إلا من خارج المؤسسة ، وهي مهمة شبه مستحيلة لعائلته نظرا لبعد المسافة ووصولهم المقيد.

واضافت أم السعد في تصريح مسجل يبثه ايكيب ميديا رفقة هذه القصاصة: «هذه سياسة متعمدة لكسر إرادة شقيقي وصحته. يعلمون أننا نعيش على بعد 700 كيلومتر وأن الزيارات محدودة للغاية. كيف من المفترض أن نوصله أدويته بانتظام؟»

وتتفاقم معاناة العائلة بسبب القيود الصارمة على الزيارات. كشفت أم السعد أن الإذن لزيارة البوريال ممنوح فقط لأمه وزوجته وأخة وحدة. بينما يمنع جميع أفراد العائلة الآخرين من حق الزيارة بشكل منهجي، مما يعزله عن محيط من اقاربه واصدقائه.

وعلاوة على ذلك، أوضحت المتحدثة الظروف اليومية المروعة التي يعاني منها شقيقها. قائلة: «محمد يعاني من سوء نوعية الطعام المقدم، ويعيش في عزلة تامة منذ سبع سنوات». وقد أثر هذا العزل الطويل وسوء التغذية تأثيرا بالغاً على صحته الجسدية والنفسية.

وختمت لقاءها بتوجيه نداء إلى المجتمع الدولي. داعية «كل ضمير دولي إلى التحرك وإلقاء الضوء على معاناة أخيها وجميع المعتقلين السياسيين الصحراويين المحتجزين في السجون المغربية».

Saharawi Political Prisoner Mohamed Bourial on Hunger Strike to Protest Dire Conditions and Medical Neglect

Mohamed Bourial, a Saharawi political prisoner from the Gdeim Izik group, has entered a 48-hour hunger strike to protest the dire and inhumane conditions of his detention, including the denial of essential medicine and severe family visitation restrictions.

The hunger strike began on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Ait Melloul prison near Agadir, where Bourial is being held approximately 700 kilometers from his family in occupied El Aaiun.

According to his sister, Oum Essad, who spoke to Equipe Media, the immediate catalyst for the protest is a critical issue regarding Bourial’s health. The prison administration has informed him that he can only receive necessary medication from outside the facility, a nearly impossible task for his family given the immense distance and their restricted access.

«This is a deliberate policy to break his spirit and health,» Oum Essad stated. «They know we live 700 km away and that visits are severely limited. How are we supposed to get him his medicine regularly?»

The family’s plight is compounded by the harsh restrictions on visits. Oum Essad revealed that permission to see Bourial is granted only to his mother, his wife, and one of his sisters. All other family members are systematically denied visitation rights, isolating him from his support network.

Furthermore, she detailed the appalling daily conditions her brother endures. «Mohamed is suffering from the bad quality of the food provided, and he has been living in total confinement for seven years,» she said. This prolonged isolation and poor nutrition have severely impacted his physical and mental well-being.

Mohamed Bourial is one of the Saharawi activists convicted in connection with the Gdeim Izik protests, a camp dismantled by Moroccan forces in 2010. His case is frequently cited by human rights organizations who accuse Morocco of arbitrarily detaining and mistreating Saharawi political prisoners.

In her communication with Equipe Media, Oum Essad made a desperate appeal to the international community. She called upon «all international conscience to act and shed light on the plight of her brother and all Saharawi political prisoners held in Moroccan prisons.»
